​ Danling Citrus Obtains Global “Passport”: Whole Region Approved for Overseas Market Access

Danling County is located on the southwestern edge of the Chengdu Plain, with a subtropical monsoon humid climate. It has an average annual temperature of 16.8℃, a frost-free period of up to 312 days, and an annual rainfall of 1,250 mm. The county features warm winters, cool summers, and abundant sunlight. Its soil is mainly yellow loam, with a pH value ranging from 5.6 to 6.8, high organic matter content, and is rich in calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and other elements—making it highly suitable for citrus cultivation.

"Danling Citrus" has successively won the National Geographical Indication Certification for Agricultural Products (issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs), the title of "National Regional Public Brand of Agricultural Products," and was selected into the "Tianfu Granary" premium brand. With a brand value exceeding 5 billion yuan, its products are sold to many countries in Southeast Asia.


To improve the quality of citrus county-wide, expand sales channels, and secure better prices, the Danling County Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued the Plan for the Creation of Whole-Region Registration of Danling Citrus Orchards for Export in April 2025. The plan specified Sichuan Dancheng Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. as the unified applicant, and included contiguous orchards in 5 towns across the county in the application scope. After 7 months of standardized construction, document preparation, and review coordination, the application passed the on-site verification by Rongle Customs House on October 15, and the official registration certificate was obtained on October 24. Covering an area of over 130,000 mu (approximately 8,667 hectares), the base includes 12 core citrus varieties with high market recognition, such as Eiyuan, Chunjian, Dayagan, and Shiranui. This marks that Danling’s late-ripening citrus industry has officially opened up a "green channel" for overseas market access, laying a key foundation for local high-quality citrus to enter the global market.

In the next step, Danling County will take the whole-region registration of fresh fruit orchards for export as the core driver. It will continue to promote the standardized upgrading and transformation of production bases to ensure citrus quality from the source and align with international market standards. Meanwhile, focusing on the goal of foreign trade growth, the county aims to achieve a significant breakthrough and substantial increase in citrus import and export volume, building on the 1,200 tons of exports in 2024. It will also continue to enhance brand competitiveness, helping Danling Citrus expand into high-end markets in Europe and North America, and accelerate the construction of an international production and sales pattern.


From the orchard branches to international shelves, Danling’s journey of whole-region registration for citrus exports is not only a victory for quality but also a microcosm of industrial upgrading. Every fruit in the vast citrus seas, carrying the mark of Tianfu’s fertile land, is spreading the sweet aroma of "Dan-brand" agricultural products to global markets. (Text/Photos by Chen Zhenli)
