“Park +”Model Activates New Urban Consumption Spaces

In autumn, Hemengkou Park in Xi District, Panzhihua City is bustling with activity. The newly opened Aiyou Infinity Pool and Houfeng Coffee, with their fashionable and casual vibe, have attracted citizens and tourists from both inside and outside the city to check in and experience, sparking a wave of consumption. The opening of the infinity pool and coffee shop has not only injected a youthful and fashionable atmosphere into the park, but also quickly boosted the local consumption popularity, demonstrating the strong appeal of the "park + commerce" integration model.

Meanwhile, "Baguan Courtyard · Fresh Fish Teahouse", which opened in August, has also become a popular choice for citizens to dine out, thanks to its clean and diverse dishes, comfortable and elegant environment, affordable prices, and warm and thoughtful service.
In the nearby Pet Amusement Park not far away, cute animals such as deer, peacocks, and rabbits gather together. Children gather around the fences to interact closely with the small animals and feed them, filling the air with laughter. It has become a "must-visit check-in spot" for parent-child trips.
The emergence of these scenarios is a vivid example of the effective implementation of Hemengkou Park’s "park + consumption" and "park + commerce" business format integration model.
Since the launch of Hemengkou Park’s urban micro-vacation project in January this year, the park has focused on the positioning of "complete functions, rich experiences, and coordinated development of ecology and commerce", and concentrated on building diversified functional sections. From the central lawn leisure area where citizens can rest and relax, to the pet amusement area and children’s playground loved by parent-child families, to the lotus pond barbecue area, bougainvillea characteristic landscape area, and various types of landscape areas that combine scenery and experience, as well as the art banquet area, outdoor research area, and infinity pool area that meet specific needs, the outline of a comprehensive park has gradually become clear.

In terms of business layout, the park has broken away from the limitations of traditional ornamental parks and innovatively introduced and integrated diverse commercial forms. With the "lawn + banquet" art cluster as the core, it connects links such as wedding services and wedding photo shooting, building a complete wedding industry chain; with the combination of "waterfall coffee + infinity pool", it creates a fashionable and trendy leisure consumption atmosphere to attract young people to stay; with "research + outdoor children’s living water park" as the carrier, it explores the youth training camp and parent-child research tourism market, enriching the outdoor activity scenarios for young people. At the same time, the supporting of experiential consumption projects such as barbecue, fishing, supermarkets, flower art, and tea art further meets the consumption needs of different groups. This not only greatly enriches consumers’ choices, but also effectively activates the commercial value of the park, bringing a new consumption experience to citizens and tourists.
After the transformation, Hemengkou Park is no longer a single green space, but a new urban business card integrating leisure, consumption, social interaction, and education. Hetang Mankao Barbecue Restaurant is in intense preparation and will officially open to welcome customers soon. The art banquet hall will also meet citizens in the near future, which will add another new consumption highlight to the park.

Today, Hemengkou Park has gradually transformed from a traditional ornamental park into a vibrant new consumption landmark and new urban business card, continuously attracting tourists from inside and outside the city to experience the fun of urban micro-vacation.
The main person in charge of the Bureau of Commerce of Xi District stated that taking Hemengkou Park as a model, the district will further create new consumption scenarios, improve new consumption supply, cultivate new consumption hotspots, and lead new consumption upgrades. It will contribute to Panzhihua’s efforts in promoting the in-depth integration of cultural tourism and health and wellness development, and accelerating the construction of an international tourist city.
