On July 21, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment jointly released the list of pilot construction projects for zero-carbon industrial parks in Sichuan Province for 2025. Panzhihua Xiqu Economic Development Zone successfully made the list, becoming one of the first four pilot parks in the province. The development zone will explore the construction path of resource-processing zero-carbon industrial parks and provide a demonstration sample for similar parks in the province.

In recent years, Xiqu District has unswervingly taken the path of transformation and development, and actively strived for the national pilot project for distributed photovoltaic development on rooftops in the whole county, the provincial pilot project for near-zero carbon emission parks, and the provincial green park. Focusing on efficient resource utilization, clean energy development, etc., it has vigorously developed industrial projects with advanced technology, green and low-carbon features, and circular efficiency, thus gaining the core competitiveness required to apply for zero-carbon industrial parks.

The pilot construction aims to explore the low-carbon and intelligent development path of industrial parks, help achieve the “dual-carbon” goals. It will further promote the transformation and upgrading of regional industries and inject new momentum into the construction of the Common Prosperity Pilot Zone and the high-quality development of the Panxi Region.
