On the evening of July 20, the event "Quju Yangguangcheng (Gathering of Quyi in Sunshine City) · Yizan Xinshidai (Praising the New Era through Art)", part of the "Happy Tour of Famous Artists and New Talents" organized by the Sichuan Provincial Quyi Artists Association, arrived in Miyi County, Panzhihua City.

The special benefit performance was held at the county cultural square. In the melodies of Qingyin (a type of Sichuan folk music), one could feel the grace of ancient Shu; in Jinqianban (Sichuan clapper talk), one could taste the vibe of daily life; and in Xieju (Sichuan comic drama), one could perceive the myriad flavors of life. Performers from the Sichuan Provincial Quyi Artists Association and Sichuan Quyi Research Institute presented a cultural feast brimming with Sichuan's unique flavor, tone and charm to the audience.

At the start of the performance, actor Lu Wenqing led his team in a splendid appearance. The melodious singing of Sichuan Qingyin and the exquisite coordination of the supporting performers complemented each other perfectly. The piece Ancient Shu Romance "sang" the mysterious ancient Shu civilization right before the audience's eyes.

Still immersed in the ancient charm, the anti-cliché crosstalk Shuangju Bushuang (Cool Dramas Are Not Cool) took the stage. With one down-to-earth joke after another, it had the audience in stitches. The duikou kuai ban (dialogue clapper talk) A Foreign Son-in-Law Comes to the House was packed with laughs. Performed in Sichuan dialect, it told a story about the differences between Chinese and Western food cultures. National First-Class Actor Zeng Lian performed the Sichuan Qingyin piece Basking in the Sun, showcasing the optimistic, open-minded and life-loving spirit of Sichuan people.

In the Sichuan Jinqianban piece Zhang Fei Buys Guokui, the sound of bamboo clappers turned stories from the Three Kingdoms into everyday neighborhood tales, introducing the audience to a humorous and approachable Zhang Fei, the famous general of the Shu Kingdom. The Quyi sketch A Bowl of Douhua Rice used an easy-to-understand, clear and distinguishable "rice dispute" to thoroughly convey the truth that "one must be sensible in life". Renowned Bashu comedy star Dingdang (Zhang Xudong) delivered a brilliant performance of Mahjong Life—a work that won the China Quyi Peony Award—with just a folding fan, bringing the piece to life perfectly.

When the sound of the pipa (a traditional Chinese lute) in Flowers Blooming in a Flourishing Age echoed, the audience felt the unique spark created by the collision of traditional Quyi and modern aesthetics, as if experiencing the poetic imagery of "large and small pearls dropping on a jade plate".

Li Li, a local resident, said, "It's fantastic—I'm still craving more! So many famous artists came to Miyi and brought us a high-quality audio-visual feast right at our doorstep. Thumbs up!"

Quan Xueli, a tourist from Chengdu, commented, "The Thousand-Person Duoluohe in the morning was stunning and grand; the ethnic sports competitions at noon were thrilling and exciting; and the evening performance was authentic and 'bashì' (a Sichuan dialect term meaning wonderful). Miyi has done an amazing job with these activities." (Text/Photos by Tan Xin, Peng Xudong)
