In order to effectively prevent heatstroke and cool down the elderly, so that the elderly can enjoy a cool summer. On July 16, the Civil Affairs Bureau of Ebian Yi Autonomous County, together with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Ebian Yi Autonomous County, actively organized party volunteers to go into various old-age care institutions and send coolness and care to the elderly who are supported in the institutions.

At the event, volunteers sent watermelons, mineral water, plum soup and other heatstroke prevention materials to the elderly. The medical staff of the Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine conducted detailed health screening for the elderly around the high incidence of heatstroke and cardiovascular diseases in summer, and gave targeted professional health guidance and suggestions.

Shi Ming'an, Deputy Director of the County Civil Affairs Bureau, emphasized that extreme heat can easily cause physical discomfort or heatstroke among elderly residents. All service institutions must rigorously implement safety measures during hot weather, thoroughly investigate and rectify potential risks, strictly prevent accidents, stockpile heatstroke prevention medications and supplies, improve emergency response plans, closely monitor health and emotional changes in vulnerable individuals, and enhance focused care with psychological counseling. This initiative has provided over 130 centralized elderly care residents with comfort packages totaling more than 3,000 yuan.

In the next step, the Civil Affairs Bureau of Ebian Yi Autonomous County will combine the actual work and carefully guide all townships to do a good job in heatstroke prevention and cooling for the poor people, reduce the health risks caused by high temperature, and effectively improve the happiness of the poor people.
